Bring health to the people of Guatemala through a holistic approach,
attending to the mind, body, and soul.
Vision
Provide education, resources, and healthcare to individuals, communities, and organizations throughout Guatemala.
Mission

Our Core Values
We believe caring for the soul is integral to a healthy life. We desire to demonstrate that every individual is loved, valued, and has a purpose. We believe this identity is primarily rooted in a relationship with Jesus Christ.
Spiritual
We desire to provide health and healing for physical conditions. However, we acknowledge that the body is complex and multi-faceted and that caring for it requires diverse approaches. Contributing factors to health such as living conditions, access to clean water, food, and other resources, must also be addressed.
Physical

Holistic
We desire to bring hope,
health, and healing
to the whole person.
The interconnectedness
of our mental, emotional,
physical, and spiritual beings
is key to overall health.
We believe emotions are God-given and vital to health and well-being. We desire to provide resources for emotional stability and a healthy mind as a crucial component of overall health.
Emotional
We believe that knowledge is the foundational step to improving overall health. We desire to equip others with this knowledge by providing individual and group learning opportunities on topics related to health.
Mental

Hope
We desire to bring hope
for a brighter future by providing
resources and tools to those we serve,
enabling them to care for themselves,
their families, and their communities
well. Ultimately, we believe that
true and living hope is found in
Jesus Christ.

Community
We desire to see the
health of every community
we serve improve and spread
beyond our limited reach.
We believe that people were created
for relationships and community
and this plays a significant role
in the health of each person.
As we work together to improve
the health of individuals
this will then impact families
and ultimately communities
as a whole.

Excellence
We desire to provide
the highest quality of care
to those we serve.
Professionalism and preparedness
are of utmost importance,
enabling us to serve others
to the best of our abilities
and honor God in all we do.
Health and Wellness Programs

Education
We believe that education is foundational to a healthy life and knowledge is the leaping point into a world of possibilities. We offer 1:1 and group classes on a variety of health-related topics like nutrition, dental hygiene and women's health.

Emergency Preparedness
This training is an important part of our program. We come alongside communities, ministries, and other organizations to prepare them to respond in various emergency situations by teaching basic first aid and wound care, severe bleeding, CPR, choking, and more. Community Support
Our work on a community level looks different in each location. We begin by connecting with a local church or ministry that is invested in the families they serve. We meet people where they are, learn what needs they have, and create a health program with intentionality, centering on our core values.

Plant-Based
Getting vitamins and nutrients straight from the source is key. When our bodies are properly nourished, we are better equipped to fight infections and prevent diseases. We teach how to grow, prepare, and use whole foods (like fruits, vegetables, herbs, and whole grains) to nourish our bodies. We also use natural products and herbal medicine to support our bodies from the inside out.

Angela

Registered Nurse, Health Education
Angela moved to Guatemala from Nevada in 2017. With a background in emergency nursing, she has been involved in medical missions of various kinds. Through those experiences, she realized a key piece was missing—education. She started Holistic Hope, becoming a passionate advocate for holistic well-being. With a foundation set in the true HOPE of Jesus, she helps to empower individuals and families to build habits that lead to a full life with deep roots that will carry generations to come. Her vision and leadership drive the mission forward, inspiring others to join in making a meaningful difference.

Elisabeth
Elisabeth Paregger

Elisabeth is from a bustling community in Tirol, Austria, where she worked in gastronomy, tourism, and management. She has been living in Guatemala for more than 20 years, where she spends her days caring for her family and working the land, and enjoys watching them both grow strong and healthy.
Her work with Holistic Hope includes coordinating the activities in the communities, using her language skills to help with interpretation and translation, overseeing the Herbs of Hope garden, using her passion for agriculture to teach people from all walks of life to know God and His incredible creation, and how to use plants for health and healing.

Corina & Gerardo
Corina & Gerardo Lovato
Family Support Coordinators
Gerardo is from El Salvador and Corina is from Guatemala. They were married in 2008 and have been serving together in ministry since. In 2019, they started working with the Lighthouse, where they help underprivileged children by providing them with a place where they can learn about God, do their homework, receive a hot meal, and play.
Gerardo, Corina and their two children serve alongside Holistic Hope. Feeling called to bring the message of hope and health through education, they provide a safe place for families to learn and grow. Their ability to connect with families on an emotional and spiritual level makes them an integral part of the ministry.
